kare_nine
I would like to take portraits mixing natural and artificial lighting like Dicorcia. How can I get this great unreal dramatic effect indoor and outdoor. What is my key light ? What kinf of flash shoulD I use ? What kind of films ? etc ??? ellis_vener_photography
He lights with high power studio type lights very precisely aimed and then waits for the right instant to shoot (and he probably edits like crazy too). Balance the f-stop (determined by power setting on strobes) vs. the Ambient light level (controlled by shutterspeed) to get the effect you want.
