mitz_molo1
I bought a box of my favourite provia and notice a price hike of aboutAUD$10. Is film prices increasing in your part of the world?Looks like digital is making us pay for prices of film higher.
michael_hohner
It seems like Australians always had to pay premium for photo gear, and the importers/sellers obviously try to milk customers even more. <p> Here in Germany, film prices are as they always were. frank_oddsocks
Vanbar list Astia at AUD $20.47 a roll, and last time I stocked up (a few months ago at Vanbar, but not by mail) it was between $19 and $20. This is consistent with the slight fall of the AUD against the yen. Sometimes retailers try to jack up prices of imported stuff when the AUD falls against the USD, as it has recently. That was in fact an appreciation of the USD against other major currencies, not a fall of our own.
richard_milner2
No change in the UK. Given the strength of the UKP against the $ and Yen, prices ought to be dropping.
r.t. dowling
At major U.S. retailers such as Adorama and B&H, some films have gone *down* in price compared to this time last year. Provia 100F, for instance, is about $1 less than it used to be. Elite Chrome Extra Color is about $0.50 less than it was last year. On the other hand, Sensia 100 is about $0.50 more expensive than it used to be. NPH 400 seems to be a bit less expensive than I remember it being at this time last year. rowland_mowrey
Maybe someone here has noticed that inflation is raising most all prices everywhere on every product. Some of that comes from the price of oil which is being depleted, and which is also the starting point of most organic syntheses. Organic chemicals are the basis of color photography both digital and conventional. The synthesis of the chemicals produces the dyes in both imaging methods. OTOH, color paper prices have come down considerably over the last 50 years and now are relatively stable. Digital papers, considering what they contain compared to conventional color and B&W papers are grossly overpriced IMHO. Ron Mowrey
