aeiffel
I've no experience with macro but I used to work a bit with APX100 & Rodinal (35mm only). I love the 1:100 dilution for its sharp look, well controlled contrast/great tonality, but hate the 1:50 one because of the more pronounced and unpleasant grain structure (at least to my eyes).<br> Never tried 1:25 though... I guess switching to 1:50 will give you less contrasty negs but I can't say anything about the grain/sharpness difference you may look after. db1
I've been doing my APX 100 (awesome film) lately at 1+25 for 8 minutes and the negs are beautiful. I've done 1+50 and thought things were good but 1+25 is better.
jose_francisco
David B, wich kind of enlarger dou you use? 8 minutes at 20?C? Thanks
Troll
I believe that the 1+50 negatives are a little easier to print (Leica V-35), and there is a slight compensating effect in the highlights.
malinmalin
Check out this link I found a while ago on the Nikonians http://unblinkingeye.com/Articles/Rodinal/rodinal.html I've tested 1+25 and 1+50 on PanF @50 and Kodak HIE @320 and 1+50 will produce sharper negatives for more or less the same grain structure. Agitation is a key factor here so you'll have to experiment a bit. jf
