gpdno
I'm trying to figure out how to get my SB-80DX (with a D100) to trigger my Novatron strobes. I plug the sinc cord from the strobes into the pc plug of the SB-80DX, but can't seem to get the strobes to fire. What am I doing wrong? Thanks. ellis_vener_photography
put slave "eyes" on the pack(s) and tilt the head of the SB-80DX away from the normal position to disable the preflash function.
jim_gifford
Is the PC connector on your SB-80DX designed to get the SB80-DX to fire (incoming signal from camera closes the circuit) or designed to get other units to fire (closes circuit when SB80DX fires, to send signal outbound from the SB80DX)? Ellis' suggestion of optical slaves is great. But if you want to use the PC cord as your trigger, you could use a hot-shoe-to-PC adapter device that snicks into your hot shoe and gives you a PC sync terminal. They cost maybe $15. Might be a Wein safe-sync (?) and Wein is also a good source for optical slaves. Be well,
