paul a. roid
hello, I've got this collabsible M mount 50mm f2.8 Elmar
(serial # 19338***, it's from 1963 according to my research.
I might want to sell it - the glass is very clean, I see a tiny tiny speck of
something in the inside. the chrome finish is very nice, no scratches etc.
the pictures turn out great. The aperture blades show wear (brassing),
but no oil. it has a metal front cap with a dent in it and a plastic rear cap.
how much can I ask for this lens? thx in advance, Markus
michael_kastner
Hard to say if it's from 1963. Let's say at least 50-100 USD. Check out eBay for a week or two and note the going prices today. These always change, especially in summer or around Christmas time.
Uhooru
I think the above stated price is too low. Look on ebay and at KEH, B&H, etc. I think you'll find, depending on condition it could be more like 3-350 USD or so. They are very good lenses. vic_.
I sold a mint current for $475. Then, after regretting it, I bought a mint current Elmar for $425. For a 1963 lens, $350 might be a bit too high, but you never know on eBay, there have been a lot of strange auctions.
pensacolaphoto
I think that if the condition is about 8.5-9, the lens can be sold for $175-$250 if the glass is very clean.
