  1. I like using a Canon P with some RF lenses. In fact, I have three Canon P cameras, in 3 colors. My favorite lens is the Canon 19mm/3.5 LTM, but I have other excellent Canon lenses for this camera. I recommend the Canon 35/2 and 50/1.5 or 35/1.5 Sonnar Sonnar or 50/1.4.
  2. Sorry! I should have updated this thread. I am still using the Leica Standard. My favorite lens with it is the Canon 19mm/3.5 ltm.
  3. Which CF cards would you buy? They cost more than what it costs to get SD cards.
  4. I am expecting soon a D700 in the mail. I am new to DSLR cameras. I own old Nikkor lenses for the F system, but I do not own any AF lenses for modern Nikon cameras. Is there a specific lens that I "must" get for the D700, or am I Ok with my basic set of Nikon lenses: 55/3.5 micro; 50/1.8; 50/1.4; 80-200/4.5; 105/2.5; 24/2.8. I found this thread on the D700, to learn more about buying a used D700. Mine has 17k actuations.
  5. I used for many years a Pentax 85/1.8 on my Canon T90 via an adapter. It worked very well.
  6. Congrats on your repair work. I use different wide angle lenses on my Standard Leica. Examples: Canon FD 17/4 and 19/3.5 with Canon Adapter B. Rokkot 21/4 with Minolta adapter to ltm. The RF free camera is usually a lighter camera, which make sit more fun to use.
  7. Is it a black painted P (by someone) or is it a factory Black Paint P?
  8. My favorite camera bag costs (new) about $30.
  9. Is there a way to control the aperture or do phone cameras always shoot wide open? Thanks!
  10. I have never used an app for photography before. Do you have a recommended app? Thank you.
  11. I own a Sumamrit that may have some internal issues, but when I mailed Don Goldberg this lens for repair, he avised me not to touch it and to use it for special portraits. I kept the lens as is.
  12. Thank you for so much information on the M10. I would be worried by its extensive use of batteries.
  13. We used to have a saying in Iraq: "everything made in Russia heats up except the iron!"
  14. Yes, I was. I prefer the CV 50/1.5 over the 7Artisans50/1.1. Both are very good lenses. I have both. I did not buy their 35/2 as I have a Summicron 35/2, a Summilux 35/1.4, a Canon 35/2 and a Nikon 35/1.8. There is a limit to what I will buy. Raid
  15. I recommend either a Rigid Summicron 50/2 or a 35mm Summicron, depending on your preference. If your budget allows it, I would suggest to get a 35mm/1.4 Lux. It is a great general purpose lens that can be used for street photography (as can many other lenses). If your budget allows it, you could consider a 35mm Summicron and a CV 50/1.5.
  16. I meant the Zeiss 16/8 in G mount, and then have it professionally adapted to Leica M mount. The conversion is permanent, even though there exists online an adapter that could be used for a non-permanent conversion.
  17. I have such a lens. Haze can build up, so always check for haze.
  18. I realize that I have taken a risk with buying a Hologon, but I can also use it on film cameras if the images come out with unacceptable colors or vignetting on digital cameras. It is for the fun of trying this out and taking photos with such a lens.
  19. I have read a lot of posted material about the Hologon and the alternative choices, such as the Leica 21/3.4 or the CV 15/4.5 III. It seems that the Hologon will give a "vintage look", and while some swear by its lack of distortion, others recommend not to buy it. I am curious about this lens, and I want to try it and see if I like using it.
  20. Hi, I am looking for experience based advice on hot to best use the Hologon 16/8 on Leica M9. Thanks.
  21. Thank you for your feedback and the posted images. The 12mm (24mm) lens seems to be a good choice.
