Mike Gammill
The University near my home has bound issues of Popular Photography dating back to 1939. In one of the 1940 issues I came across an add for Sears Marvelpan black and white film. It was available in 120, 620, and 127 sizes. Anyone ever heard of it? Just I'm guessing that Ansco or Dupont may have made it, but I'm not sure.Thanks.
david_goldfarb
I don't know, but it's amusing to think there was once a film called "Marvelpan."
lex_jenkins
Not sure but I'm guessing Stan Lee had something to do with it.
Aoresteen
Mike, Seems to me that it was Ansco but I'm not 100% sure. I'll look tonight and see if I can find anything on it.
Mike Gammill
Came across some Tower film (early Sears house brand) on *bay and the seller said it was made in Belgium. Anyone know of any b/w film made in Belgium?
Mike Gammill
A more recent post in this forum may have answered my question. Gevaert, according to a more recent post, was made in Belgium. So maybe the early Sears Marvelpan was made by Gevaert?
