tony_cabrera
Tried searching but couldn't find a thread. Is there a wired way to fire a Photogenic 1250 with a D70 without frying the camera? Is the AS-15 safe to use with this monolight and camera?
michael_benveniste
I _think_ you'd be okay with the AS-15. IIRC the trigger voltage of the 1250 is under 6 volts. However, I suggest a Wein Safe-Sync instead. Yes, it's $50 instead of $20, but it's one less thing to worry about during a studio shoot.
tony_cabrera
Thanks much Michael! I feel much better confirmed by another pro...
ellis_vener_photography
I'm pretty sure (but not absolutely sure) that the safe maximum sync voltage for the D70 is more like 200 volts, not 6 volts as is the case with all but the very top end Canon EOS cameras. michael_benveniste
You're welcome, but I'm not a pro nor do I have any desires in that direction. I'm just a slightly paranoid and more than slightly quirky hobbiest.
