mcsimard
Hi,I want to develop kodak infrared HIE and ilford delta 400 in the same tank, with ilfotec-ddx for 8 minutes. I'm assuming they are constituted of the same components. Are they really? If they are not, are they going to contaminate each other? Thanks. robert meier
That will work fine. No contamination worries.
grinder
They are both b&W Film but I am not sure they both need 8 min in that developer. just make sure that your EI and those times match a development scheme.
mcsimard
Robert and Donald, thank you very much for your helpful responses. I'm nor sure about the time for the HIE either but since I haven't found any significant infos on developing this film in DDX, that's the best time I could estimate. I'm willing to experiment with the infrared and I know it's the right time for the delta 400, which is the most important one for me right now. Take care guys. vui_chong
I have developed Kodak HIE with DDX for 8.5 minutes with great success. I hand roll the day light tank.
mcsimard
Vui, thanks for the input. I developed my Hie last night in ddx for 8 minutes and I liked the results; I thought the grain was much less apparent than in D-76, although I have to say my film was way better exposed this time. I'll try it for an extra 30 seconds next time.
mcsimard
Here is a sample of the film I just developed in ddx. Anybody have a comment?<div></div>
vui_chong
Hi Marie, What ASA do you rate your films and do you use a deep red filter or an opaque IR filter? The result looks good. Here is what I have taken when in went to York, UK. I rate the film at ASA 400 and use a 8X red filter. Developed as I had outlined earlier and then scan onto my computer. mcsimard
I rate the film at 400 asa and bracket one stop up and one down. I use a red filter, tiffen no 25, the one that takes two stops away. Good shot. Here is another one of mine.<div></div>
