paul_graham4
hi all, has anyone ever seen the close up tube (lens extender?) for Koni- Omega cameras? I'm told they exist for both the regular omegas (a 10mm tube) and the omegaflexes (a 10mm spacer plate) to move the lens a little further out and allow the lens to focus closer, but I've never seen one? any ideas/ or knowledge of them? thanks, paul - peegeenyc@earthlink.net
geoff_mcauliffe
They exist. They come up on E-*** on occasion. You should also check PhotoNet and sign up for the Koni Omega mailing list. Patience is a virtue.
james_mullineaux
I actually own two 10mm spacers for the KO. They are used in conjunction with a ground glass attachment for fucusing which makes their use analogous to a large format camera only minus tilt and shift. I'll try to post pics of them after I get home from work. -James Mullineaux
h._p.
"used in conjunction with a ground glass attachment for fucusing " Woohoo! I never knew those Koni-Omegas were quite so daring.... :-)))
joseph_dickerson
Paul, The Omegaflex is even more exciting. The spacer/tube looks like a lensboard with no lenses. You can still use the camera in the normal way (without infinity focus of course) but there is no parallax correction. I used them about a hundred years ago. Joe D. pictureframer
I've owned several and sold the last one 6 months ago on EB. I just saw another one sell for about the same price. Expect to pay more than it is worth. $150.00 min. , $200.00 seen and in one case someone paid over $300.00 for one. On the average I seen 1 a year on ebay but 2 this year, one was mine. You also need to add the groundglass, another $150+ and viewer attachment, $40 for full use. It's really cheaper to go buy a old view or press camera.
