kevin_dean
Sorry I forgot to ask, is the back interchangable? can you get roll film backs? Thank you. Kevin.
jason_greenberg_motamedi
I wrote a review of the Technika 23 a few years ago for Q.Tuan Luong's LF page: http://largeformatphotography.info/linhof/technika-23.html I think I answered most of your questions here. The only thing I would add to my review is to avoid the earlier "Rollex" backs (the later "Super Rollex" backs are fine). I should also say that I no longer own the camera. In the end, I found it too heavy, and movements too limited. Your milage of course, will vary.
michael_briggs2
<p>Stephen Gandy has a review on his CameraQuest website: <a href="http://www.cameraquest.com/lint369.htm">http://www.cameraquest.com/lint369.htm</a>. The Linhof website shows the camera, <a href="http://www.linhof.com/english/kameras/technika/supertechnika.html">http://www.linhof.com/english/kameras/technika/supertechnika.html</a>, so the Linhof distributer in your country should have paper brochure. (However, the new price is sky high.) </p> <p>I expect that very few would bother with sheet film today -- inconvenient compared to roll film and of limited availability. The camera takes a special Linhof roll film back. The roll film backs show up occasionally on ebay.</p>
Jochen_S
Till now I only used a 4x5" Technika. What are your intentions? A handholdable MF rangefinder? - The Technika is one, but hard to use, transport film, cock shutter, change from rangemeter to finder... Movements in MF? - Surely limited with WA lenses; so you'll surely end buying some monorail too. Affordable fun with a old fashioned press camera? - Yeah, go ahead! From my 4x5 I know the universal finder is quite pessimistic and offers a lot of parallax, so you may not like the slides you'll get, but will have no problem to crop the negs a bit. If you aren't willing to handle and pay 4x5 get it and have fun. Putting the groundglass away to mount the Rollexes will be a bit hard and not pleassant. emile_de_leon10
It is one of the nicest cameras ever made... provided you can put up with it's idiosyncracies. I own a Tech V 2x3 and it takes stunning photographs. Get the black film backs only as the tan ones can't be serviced anymore by Marflex.
victor_randin
I agree with Leon. The Super Technika 23 Vb + Super Rollex 6X9 + SA?s 47mm, 65mm - is the best MF field camera I have ever owned, much better than the Hassy Arc Body I used. However it is not so quick-firing as the SLR cameras in MF. The LT 45 is great camera but it is the Large Format camera.
