silent1
Wow. Heather, I had just about decided no one could show me a situation where the half stop difference between my f/1.4 Super Takumar and the various f/1.2 lenses would be significant -- and then you post this. A half stop lost would have lost you the shot! Now I have to think about whether I can find an f/1.2 in M42... Was this at EI 400? Or at 1200 (or so) in Diafine? Or some other kind of push? lucas_griego
lovely shot there Heather. Very delicate on the exposure side. Nice one.
h._p.
I like this much more than the other two pictures and I especially like the way you've captured the glow on the little girl's face. Definitely one for the wall, in my opinion.
thomas_sullivan
nice light, detailed dark tones nicely set the stage for them.............composition, i believe, would be improved if subject lit face more close (not necessarily dead on it though, just closer to it) to that upper right hand "rule of thirds" intersection (not to quote rules, but in this case I beleive it works better)...just my opinion. ._._z
It's a nice shot, but Heather didn't actually say she shot it wide open, Donald. At least she didn't say it yet.

ray .
You achieved something nice with the light, Heather, but beyond that, I don't think there's enough going on in the photo. I agree with Tom also that the composition feels a tad awkward.
eric merrill
My eye keeps being drawn away from the face to the lighter areas.
I would dodge the face a bit and burn in some of the extraneous highlights.
--
Eric
http://canid.com/
