Zeiss Mess Ikon Mess Ikonta 524/2

<p>Last tuesday I made a short travel to Ciudad Guayana. This is an industrial city (steel, aluminum, iron) located in South East Venezuela. I had with me a folding camera (the Zeiss 524/2, 6x9 format) and in lunch time I went for one hour to a small park in the middle of the city. There I taked the following pictures. The weather was so bad with a very harsh light, and the color pictures (Velvia 100F) were dark, dull, without live... and worst than that, I shotted it with an error of about one stop...... Then I converted the material to black and white in photoshop and applied some sharp and postproduction.... here is what I got.<br />The camera has an Agnar Anagstimat lens...and all material was taked in f/11 at 125... I believe with that speed I had to shot at f/8 .....<br /><br />regards<br />fp</p><div></div>

<p>That's a nice park in a city. Reminds me of Great Falls in Washington DC.</p>

<p>Very nice. Negative film does give you lots of options and lattitude and the 6x9s are very sharp considering.</p>

<p>Thanks to both for your comments....The problem I had is that I used positive film so I had short or limited lattitude for corrections</p>

I had never heard before of an Agnar Anastigmat in a Zeiss camera: I thought that was an Agfa brand!</p>

<p>Julio: yes...you're right; I was wrong. The lens is a Novar Anastigmat 3.5 /105mm. At this time I have 8 fold cameras...so you can understand.... :-)</p>

<p>Beautiful Federico! I have a Zeiss Ikon Nettar 518/2 6 x 9 with the same Novar lens. I love the photos it takes.</p>

<p>Those are gorgeous pictures. Just the perfect, detail-rich sort of thing that looks so good in 6x9.</p>

<p>As was said earlier in this post, a beautiful save. The shots look gorgeous here. I don't have a rangefinder folder, but I do have an Ikonta that I hear calling me right now...</p>

<p>By the way, if you like using slides in your 6x9 folders, under harsh high-contrast lighting like that, you might find that Astia gives more pleasing results and is also a little more tolerant of exposure areas. It has become my default slide film in the folders now.</p>

 

<p>Wow, some park! Great shots, and if I were you, I would just stick to B&W, much more latitude to play with.</p>
