machts gut
In a blog I visit occasionally I stumbled over a small story I wanted to share with you. By chance, it seems, some women, who appeared in a famous Winogrand photo, identified themselves on this photo decades later. ray .
To me, that's one of the all time classic Winogrand photos. Even noting that the three women are the ones huddled in the middle of the bench, I'm having a hard time matching them up to their more mature versions.. spanky
I agree, I've never really "got" Winogrands work, but this is also one of my favorites of his. I love stories like this. About a year or so ago the woman in the "girl in the elevator" picture from Robert Franks "The Americans" was found and I also learned that the man who was the boy in "Boy with a Toy Hand Grenade" sells insurance in the next town over from me.
spanky
Oops. I forgot to credit the "Boy with Toy Hand Grenade" to Arbus.
