Mike Gammill
As always, an interesting look back The plastic lens article was especially interesting. Of course later there were some plastic triplets (Pocket Instamatic 20 and 30), but no series lenses that used plastics for all the elements. A few zooms had a resin element in between glass elements. Why not more progress? I think advances in glass manufacturing and lens design have largely eliminated advantages to be gained in plastics. Now, plastic housings and lens mounts, that's another story.

rick_drawbridge
Thanks, Marc, a great read, as usual. I had to smile at the Peter Gowland article on "Flash Fill", demonstrating all the over-filled results we try to avoid today. How times change... Julio Fernandez
Heroic times in the TV industry. I wish that the lens test article would be read widely! Lloyd Varden's column reminds me of the famous advice to "The Graduate" Just the ads are a treasure. Thanks for sharing these! Plese keep them coming!
