W/NW: Pic taken with MFC Hall o' Fame Nominee

  1. Reference the thread above about Modern Film Camera Hall of Fame. Post a photo taken using any camera mentioned in that thread as a candidate for the "Hall of Fame." Glad to see this forum started. This was taken with Canon A-1 probably 50mm/f1.8 and Kodak film of some sort.

  5. My beloved old Labrador, Holly, RIP
This was a test roll shot in my first "modern film camera" that I bought on eBay - The EOS 650 with the 50mm f/1.8.
The color negative film is unretouched here. This was Walgreen's processing at its worst, I think. Or perhaps these are the famous "rods" phenomenon?

  11. Andy, I can't help going back to look at that lovely snowy scene in the trees, all the while praying fervently that we see none of that around here. Very nice.

  12. E. Short thank you very much for re-sizing my picture; I was at work and I only had this scan on my memory stick; didn't want to wait until I get home. My apologies and thanks for the nice words.

  13. Fred, thanks for the compliment. I'm about tired of snow, and we're supposed to be getting more here in Indiana, but fortunately (for us) not as much as the folks on the East Coast though!

  15. Let's try that again with the picture this time.

  16. From the first test roll of Fuji 200 in a new to me Nikon F3. Gasp, the second camera I have acquired recently that needs batteries. Standard mini-lab scan.

  18. Excellent idea for a new forum, and excellent idea for a topic (now I can justify getting that Nikon F3)!

  20. Very nice shots, everyone. Michael R, that shot of the barn is excellent! Everything about it is right on; the tone, the composition, the sharpness, all very nicely done. L. Mar, cool shot of the cyclist!

  21. Why thank you Andy!
Great shots from everyone using their HOF nominees!

  22. It's kind of hard, since everything I use is either a nominee or an accepted classic, but I'll throw in this one, which is from the first roll of cheap 200 print film I threw in my x700 a couple of years ago to test it. It would appear, from this, that its meter is up to the usual Minolta standards.

  26. Very cool shot, Rick! How are you liking that lens?

  27. Thanks Andy- it's a good 'un. Very sharp and well built, the use of "engineering plastics" looks durable too.
