My FM and MD-12

Well Michael, I happen to agree with you. Again how a camera feels, it's weight and balance, are very much a personal thing. I have been so busy lately but I did have a chance to take the FM out for a little bit. It feels just fine to me with the MD-12 on it...

Mike :D

    My FM and MD-12

Yep, to grip or not to grip... It is definitely a matter of personal choice. I just like the feel of a grip on my cameras. It is kind of funny though that some of you have had difficulties in mating these motor drives with some cameras and not others. Just the nature of the beast I guess...
Mike :D

    My FM and MD-12

Hello all! I recently acquired a Nikon FM from a local thrift store. Being such a small camera and as I have large hands and long fingers, I purchased a Nikon MD-12.

I was having a dickens of a time getting the MD-12 to work when mounted on the camera. I read many different posts on the internet about recalcitrant MD-11 and MD-12 motor winders discussing everything from "out of sequence" to just plain DOA. I finally went to the "mir" website and looked at the MD-12 manual.

Imagine my embarrassment when I found all I had to do was to turn what I thought was only a shutter lock from the "black indicator"...

To the "red indicator"...

Problem solved

Mike :D

  5.
Happy Nikon Wednesday everyone! As usual, you all never cease to amaze me with your contributions. I decided to exercise my F100 so my humble film submissions follow.
Film used was Kodak 400TX, processing was with Diafine, negs scanned and post-processed in Lightroom 5

Mike :D

  12.
Great pictures from everyone! I am happy to see some more film examples this time around. No "housekeeping" to speak of but, I will continue with some more film examples. 13.
Haven't got my film scanned yet so I'll share some pictures from my D7100. 14.
"No, you always had full frame - see that K1000 in your closet?"

Yes. it is true... :D Nice image...!

Mike :D

  15.
Thanks Patrick! I love my D7100 but I just can't let go of film. The really nice thing I've found out about the Nikon platform is that it is very backwards compatible for their lenses, without having to use adapters.

Mike :D

  16.
Hello all on another wonderful Nikon Wednesday! As I have switched my digital allegiance to Nikon, I cannot leave film behind so to that end, I have acquired a Nikon F90X and thought I'd share some pictures from it...

Nikon F90X with Nikon Series E 50mm f1.8 manual focus, Kodak TX400 @ ISO 200
Developed in Caffenol STD recipe

Nikon F90X with AF Nikkor 50mm f1.8 D, Kodak TX400 @ 200 ISO
Developed in Caffenol STD recipe

Nikon F90X with AF Nikkor 18-55 f3.5-5.6 G VR, Kodak TX400 @ 200 ISO
Developed in Caffenol STD recipe

The TX400 was shot @ ISO 200 because SOMEONE forgot to check the ISO setting on the camera...
Mike :D

  17.
Okay, the SB-22 does not TTL with modern digital cameras. so it works on my D7100 but no TTL (which is no big deal).

Mike :D

  18.
Hmmmmm.... Thanks for the info Albin. I've been told that the SC-17 cable did not support TTL so I guess I'd better investigate further!

Mike :D

  20.
Hello all!

Some new Nikon acquisitions that have found a home with me. The first is a Nikon F90X film camera with a MB10 grip-

It came with a AF Nikkor 28-200mm f3.5-5.6 D lens but is seen here with a AF Nikkor 50mm f1.8 D lens that I recently purchased.

Like most N/F90's it suffered from sticky back syndrome. I cleaned it up as much as I could using alcohol but I could not get all of the residue off.

I ended up cutting a piece of textured self-adhesive vinyl running board tape and fitting it to the back

The next item is the Nikon SC-17 flash cable. It doesn't handle TTL but it works great to get my SB-22 Speedlite off the camera.

Works great with my D7100 too!

Mike :D

  22.
Hi Randy! Unless I miss my guess, I believe that particular car was known as the Crown Vic Skyliner. Yes, it was/is a gorgeous car,

Mike :D

  23.
Ahhhh...so it wasn't you after all, my apologies! LOL! I do have to give the man credit though, he's not afraid to get different angles for his photographs...

As per your question Howard, the car is a home built affair based on a heavily modified model A roadster body and frame with much custom metal work. The engine is a Ford flathead V8 that has been "massaged" to increase the horsepower.

Mike :D
