c_barey
I tried to push a roll of this one stop and it already looked like too much. Anyone have a similar experience?
jean_yves_mead
I've always found R400S to be a fine film at box speed (especially if one intends to scan the negative), but pretty much impossible to push.
Fotohuis RoVo
Yes, +1F is the limit for the 400S (Gevaert aviation film). If you want a Rollei type like Tri-X 400, you have to try the Rollei RPX 400 film in RPX-D developer. E.I. 1600 is no problem.... and even more.
On the other hand Retro 400S is sharp en nice in contrast.
tklim
Right, I've had very satisfactory results with Retro 400S, but even developing it in FX-37 I prefer to use E.I. = 200. Then, with an appropriately short dev time, I get high quality, wonderfully sharp negatives with no visible grain (at least for the network presentation purposes).
