obi-wan-yj
I've got to send in my Canon 70-300 IS lens for non-warranty repair. I live in the center of the US, equidistant from all three Canon factory service centers (CA, VA, and NJ). Is there any of these three centers that has a better reputation or faster turnaround than the others? Should I just randomly pick one? I've searched the forums here and read good things about both the CA and NJ service centers.
ljwest
Just a thought: Does Canon have a preference? Sometimes each service center "covers" certain states. This keeps the workload even at all of them.
obi-wan-yj
When Canon's online repair request form listed the available service centers, it ordered them closest-to-farthest from my location. Virginia is 123 miles closer to me than California, with New Jersey in between.
hjoseph7
I live in Northern Virginia and whenever I call Canon for service repair they direct me to their offices in NJ.
bob_osullivan
I've only used the NJ site. But I've used it several times. They have always been very prompt and thorough. If you don't get any reviews on the others, I would just use NJ. They get it done.
obi-wan-yj
I went ahead and sent it to New Jersey this morning. I've used them in the past with no complaints. I suppose I'll find out next week whether they're able to fix my 300mm tilt/shift lens to remove the tilt/shift feature.
