Brad Cloven
In one of the best buys ever, I scored an M3 for $400 earlier this year:

http://www.photo.net/classic-cameras-forum/00dtHT?unified_p=1

I've since spent lots on a Summicron 50mm and CLA. I'm really enjoying the results. Here are several good ones from recent rolls. Enjoy!

1) Mom & Neice

2) Ferrari

3) Model & Artists

4) At the Diner

5) Father and Son

6) Tickets

8) $30M Car

9) F 350

10) Happy Car

11) Softail

And there are many more. I'm loving the quality of the lens.

Due to a lack of time, these were commercially developed. When I do my own in Ilfosol 3, they come out even better.

Thanks for looking. Have a great week!
rajmohan.
Lovely images, Brad. You're obviously enjoying the combo!
Which version of the Summicron did you end up buying?
Brad Cloven
Rajmohan: The one just pre-aspherical, with the extensible hood.

Type 5, according to Rockwell here:

http://www.kenrockwell.com/leica/50mm-summicron-comparison-table.htm

Brad Cloven
Paul: Thanks very much, but you should really see my WIFE! http://www.photo.net/classic-cameras-forum/00e6oJ :-)

Rajmohan, I don't understand how that could possibly be! ;-)
rajmohan.
Ha ha - I do love the classic hi-res, lower-contrast rendering of my DR Cron, so I refuse to be seduced by a little extra contrast! :)
Brad Cloven
Raj: When I wish to visit your visual neighborhood, I'll use the freshly CLA-ed 1.5 Summarit. It was very nice before Youxin cleaned out the grit and minor fog. I haven't tried yet, but I want to use that and some TMax 100 for head shots. Mmmmm.... Smooth!
rajmohan.
Oh yes - when you do, please share some images; I look forward to seeing them.
I was tempted by the idea of the Summarit, but couldn't find an example without issues. So I eventually made my way to a Summitar (for Leica) and a pre-war Zeiss Sonnar 1.5 (for Contax) - both wonderful lenses with unique qualities.
SCL
Glad to see you're enjoying the Leica goodies - nice shots (loved the bugeye Triumph - it was my younger brother's first car). No matter what other cameras one has (and some of us have or have had plenty), if there's a Leica in the mix, regrdless of whatever else we have, we always come back to it - its simplicity, longevity, quality of manufacturing, and the rendering of its long line of lenses just keeps sucking us back in.
Robin Smith
Nice shots: I used to have the same Summicron as you and previously a 1969 chrome version.
Robin Smith
