NPH thin negs

Recommended Posts

Hi to all and thanks in advance.

I've been using NPH 400 in a roll film back for my LF camera and have

found it seems to be underexposed consistently.

Zone1 densities come in at approx .05 and Zone5 at .4-.5 above F+FB

levels.

Options;1.Rated film speed is out-can't do much about this except

change my iso for the film.

2.meter is out-possible,but my Sekonic meter and spot meter

in Nikon F-90 and 801-s agree within 1/3 of a stop.

3.Film processing lab is out-possible,but I ran two

identically exposed films to two labs and they came back the same.

4.Shutter and apertures on all three lenses used are out-

possible, but unlikely that all are out by the same amount at the same

apertures and shutter speeds;tested at about what I use for landscapes

Have I missed something?and where do I go from here.Sorry for the

long post.

Regards-Mike

I was never satisfied with results from print film as i have been a chrome shooter for years. Then i started exposing nph at 320 or 200 and have finally been pleased with my prints. Now i consistently overexpose all print film and find that results are good anywhere from 1/3 to even 2 stops o.e.
