Nikkor manual glass to Leicaflex 2 cam?

<p>Can Nikkor manual focus glass be used on a 2 cam camera (Leicalflex SL) via an adapter? Thanks.</p>

<p>Short answer: No<br>

Longer answer: the flange focal distance is 47mm for the Leica, 46.5mm for the Nikon, so you would either have to shave off 0.5mm of the Leica bayonet or replace it or insert an adapter between the camera and the lens that contains optical elements (which are going to interfere with the IQ of the lens being mounted and of which I am not aware than any exist anyway).</p>

<p>I think you do it backward. I think Leica lenses are better than Nikkors and Nikon SLR bodies are better than Leica SLR's.</p>

<p>BeBu has nailed the equation. My best SLRs were Nikon film cameras w/ 90 Elmarit or Summicron lenses that were mounted w/ cheap Chinese Leitax knockoff adapters. If you use a body w/ AE and AE lock, then stop down metering is just as quick as open aperture shooting.</p>

<p>I think BeBu's statement is highly debatable, particularly when considering the Leicaflex SL or SL2.</p>
