Masking hair from background.

Does anyone have any good method of extracting a person with hair blowing from

an all black or white background? I would really like to know how people

extract it and everything including edges are smooth as if you shot it without a

background at all. Any help is appreciated.

If what he suggests doesn't work for you then you can always stasrt spending money on plug-ins.

Have you tried the photoshop magic-wand tool, you can use this to select a background, set the tolerance then click on the background, if the background is all white or all black this should be quite simple. alot of older versions of photoshop have this tool as well as the new CS2 version, Good luck, Dan

Yeah, I was just wondering if people were using something other than the wand tool to get it looking so smooth out. Will try the Russell one and see how that does.

Try fluid mask, they even have tutorials about how to do that.
