anthea50
One of our friends belongs to a group called the Asphalt Demons, basically people who collect memorabelia from the 40's, 50's and 60's. They restore cars and bikes from that era, and also have a fabulous Rock & Roll band. I was invited to visit 'the shed' where I spent all morning shooting. I haven't processed all the shots yet; here are a couple of my favourites so far.

Greg M
Sanford, Regarding your question about the 75-300, yes, it is very hand holdable at 300mm. In the images I posted earlier, they were tripod mounted because of the ease that affords, the better ability to compose the closeups, use a cable release and keep the ISO at base vs. having to go to higher ISO's to give faster shutter speeds had I held the camera, but I have plenty of images where I was not carrying a tripod and handheld the 75-300 throughout the range.

These were all shot handheld at 300mm..

Sanford
Well, it can't be easy handholding what amounts to a 600mm lens. I have 45-200mm and have to remind myself that this is like using a 400mm lens. Mine has I.S. in the lens and I believe the Olympus I.S. is in the body. They both seem to work surprisingly well. There is a tendency to use whatever zoom lens you have at the extreme.
Greg M
Yes, the I.S. is in-body with the Pen and this lens. I do not think this lens would be easily used at all handheld without an eyelevel finder. My Pen always has the VF-2 fitted and I would not use this lens without it.

I also own an E5 DSLR with both the 70-300 and 50-200 SWD Zuikos in addition to the EC20 I often use with the 50-200, so I have quite a bit of experience at this point using longer tele zooms, know what my limitations are and do everything I can to keep the Pen+75-300 as steady as possible.

While I have several examples at 300mm, I have also used this lens quite a bit at the 75mm end, most of the in-between focal lengths and am very impressed with it at every zoom setting. This is the only Olympus Micro lens described by Olympus as "High Grade", and I see why now. Optically, they put some pretty exotic glass in this lens and it shows.
