lincyjarowski
I am trying to find out how to learn the art of creating photoshop templates like the ones you see for printing websites ...holiday cards, weddings etc: Basically how to create digital papers graphics and designs to make those.
Is there a specific name to the job of designing these cards, is photoshop good enough or is there another software ?
Please enlighten me on this subject. I have asked various designers if they could recommend books or tutorials but no one has responded and I could not find any info on this site either. If there is already a post I apologize...please post the link and I will read through it. Thanks a ton to all that helped in advance.
Lincy.
tom_mann1
There are many small programs available for the scrapbooking community that offer "artistic" frames and brushes. Google {scrapbooking software}.

If you want a "canned solution" for Photoshop you can use something like Akvis' "Artsuite" (http://akvis.com/en/artsuite/frame-packs.php ), or any of the other templates and actions for Photoshop available on the web.

If you want to learn how to do this yourself from scratch, you will first need to have a decent level of general competence (eg, layers, selections, cutting and pasting, resizing, etc.) in Photoshop or even just the amateur version, "Photoshop Elements". Google {scrapbooking using Photoshop}. Try links like:
http://graphicssoft.about.com/od/digitalscrapbooking/ss/beginnerintro.htm
http://www.scrappersguide.com/

HTH,

Tom M
