geoffrey_swenson
Hi All,
I have a NEC 2690wuxi2 monitor which has a matt surface and I am wondering what to use to clean it. I know that any paper product will scuff the finish, but also just looking at it sideways will.
I heard to use micro-cloth. Is there any product that cleans and takes out any minor scratches?
Thank you,
GS
jenkins
I just use warm water and a micro cloth to clean my Mac screen Geoffrey, works a treat, won't sort out scratches though.
leslie_cheung
Just hot water and paper towels for me mostly. Once in a while I use lens/glasses cleaning liquid and microfiber cloth.

digitaldog
Really good quality Microfiber cloths work amazingly well. I can recommend these for all my LCD’s (several NEC’s):

http://www.kbcloth.info/
Author “Color Management for Photographers" & "Photoshop CC Color Management" (pluralsight.com)

geoffrey_swenson
Thank you. So Microfiber it is. I'll look into Screen-Prep as well. I prefer glossy screens, because you can clean them forever w/out scuffing. Matt screens are quite fussy.
lex_jenkins
Another vote for microfiber cloths, just barely dampened with non-alcohol lens cleaning fluid. So far I've had to clean this non-glare LED once, just a small spot, and it didn't leave any telltale streaks.
ian_gordon_bilson
White vinegar or vodka on a micro-fiber cloth are considered safe. Dampen the cloth, not the screen.
