jeh
I shot a few rolls of B& W with my Mamiya 645 afd in New York last week. when I developed the rolls and went to print a photo I noticed a honeycomb effect on the negative through the grain focuser. I made the print and the print has a spotty effect on it ( almost a pixulated effefc or a velox effect) cannot figure out why it is there basically on the whole roll. any suggestions? john_finch
Could it be reticulation? If the one of the solution temperatures was out a few degrees (including the wash) you may cause the emulsion to show this kind of effect. However, I did have reticulation on a roll of FP4+ once for no reason I could think of at all. I always process the same way and had never had it before of since, this one film just decided to reticulate. So, I guess it can just happen sometimes. hugh_crawford1
Reticulation can also be caused by a too abrupt a change in ph from the base developer to the acid stop bath.
chris_waller
Yes, this sounds like reticulation for either of the reasons stated above.
