radhakrishnan_subramaniam
Hello Everyone!

I have a rather long name, but I go by Ranjit with family and friends. Although, I have been handling films and cameras all my life, I have to say that I am a noob when it comes to understanding the science, the techniques and creativity of professional photography. I am a 58 years old Indian citizen, and I live in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia with my family. As retirement age is fast approacing, I am planning to get seriously involved in landscape/travel photography as my second career and to revitalize my worklife in a new direction. The area that interests me is documenting the social lives of indigenous and improverished peoples of the world through photography. I hope that I can make a difference.

To embark on this journey with the 'right' footing, I plan to enroll in the complete course in photography offered by the New York Institite of Photography (NYIP) beginning in early 2013. I believe that this will not only give me the solid foundation that I need, but also expose me to the wonderful world of photograhy. Unfortunately, I do not have any photos to share with you guys at this time, but I will certainly do so as soon as I get some. I look forward to interacting closely with each and everyone of you, and at the same time, learning as much as possible about photography. Who knows? Maybe our paths will cross in the near future.

Cheers,
Ranjit
William Kahn
Hello, Ranjit, and welcome. I took the pro photography course from NYIP several years ago and have no regrets. It's an excellent way to learn the basics. Good luck, and post some shots when you can...

pjdilip
Hi Ranjit, how is it going! I have just retired and am also trying to get back into the game: but then I have to divide my time between music, writing and photography!
