sergio_ortega7
Recently ordered "The Vue Scan Bible: Everything You Need to Know for Perfect Scanning". I thought the book would be helpful for my students. Have not received it yet, but I'm wondering if anyone using this manual can share any thoughts or opinions. cabbiinc
All reviews I've seen of the book basically say that the author rehashes his last book and the PDF from Vuescan's website is of more help.
bgelfand
I purchased it through Amazon for a little over $20; I think it is worth it. It layes things out in one place. I found it easier to read than the PDF or help files that came with VueScan. It does need an index.
peter_gilbert4
I got the book from Amazon also (took months!), but in the end I think it was worth the modest cost. I was most interested in scanning RAW (color negatives), chapter 7 in the book. Did I learn anything new? Not really, I got everything I needed to know beforehand from the CF Systems website (I use ColorPerfect) and research on this Forum and elsewhere on the Web. But it was good to know my workflow was "validated" by the steps outlined in this book.
For someone new to scanning and/or wanting to move it up a notch to scan RAW, I can recommend the book.
don_bryant2
I purchased the Kindle version from Amazon and received a $9.99 discount making the book free.

If one is new to VS it's probably a helpful book but for those of us that have been scanning for a long time with VS the book isn't really that helpful.

Unfortunately the author leads people to believe that scans saved in the DNG format are RAW files like digital camera RAW files which they are not.
