alice_guy
Anyone know of any good online resources suitable for educating (but not confusing) clients as to the unseen work a photographer puts into a job for them? Although I do explain my costs, reasonings, and ALL the work involved to clients when requested, I sometimes feel like they take it as a list of excuses. Of course, once the job is recieved they are fine, but I'd be keen to see how they react if they given an official / third party resource as an explanation. I'll continue searching and may well compile my own if can't find anything suitable, but if anyone knows of anything along these lines a point in the right direction would be appreciated. ellis_vener_photography
I don't think there is much of a point to it. The only way for this to work is for them t oactually see you do all of the work. But I think your question is really more alongthe lines of 'How tdo I explain why photography costs what it does?" It does help to breakdown your estimates and invoices item by item: creative fees and expenses.
nigel d
I am reminded of the joke about the consulting engineer who is asked for an itemized bill and presents an invioce with just two items, adjusting screw $1, knowing which screw to adjust $99,999.
