tylerwind
I have some photos from when I first started shooting that have some terrible dust spots on them. As long as they are against a solid background, how hard is it to fix them in photoshop? Can you still produce a printable image after fixing them? The best example is my shot "Blue Sunrise" which is found here: http://www.photo.net/photo/5120300 It is covered with dust spots but is it salvagable? Thanks so much for the help and advice. In addition to knowing very little about photography I used to not know how to clean my lens either!
leicaglow
Easy fix with PS. I used a paintbrush (just like spotting regular prints) and the dropper tool to capture the color right next to the spot, and paint over it. On the beach dust, I copied a section from right next to the dust and pasted it over the spot. You can often use the diffuser (focus tool) to soften out a speck with the surrounded area. Took 2 minutes.
phule
The dust in not on your lens but on the sensor. Search the archives for proper sensor-cleaning techniques. In Photoshop you can use the Clone or Healing tools to clean these up. It takes practice and technique to do it well, so you should get started. :)
tylerwind
Michael and Rob--Thank you very much for your responses...they were both very helpful! I appreciate the example and also the tip about the sensor. I'll search the archives. Thanks again!
