emily_menzies
So I've been looking at different options for a new tripod for a while now. I don't need a full size beast, got one already, this is specifically for travel. So far I haven't been able to find something that ticks all the boxes and am thinking it probably doesn't exist yet, so opening it up to see if anyone has a suggestion that might tick them all or come close?? (I know it's a lot of specifics to look for in such a small unit, but here's hoping there's something out there!)
Here are my dream features for a travel tripod (have listed them as Legs and Head separately):
LEGS
- clip locks
- under 2 kgs (legs and head)
- minimum 4 kgs carry load (legs and head - preferably more)
- ground level to 160cm max height (roughly)
- preferably no centre column
- if centre column then with weight hook attached for stability
- retractable feet spikes

HEAD
- level
- pan/tilt
- tension control
- vertical shooting mode
- quick release
User_6502147
You can look through these, but there are various compromises. Also, video requires stout tripod and the head's resistance (fluid head) effects the legs mechanics....and you likely wouldn't want anything too wobbly.

Good luck.

Les
