j._raabe
Got my first 10 rolls of 120 FomaPan 400 in today (from J and C) and I'm at a loss (sort of) for developing times! Here's my info: I use PMK, or TFX-2. I have some DD-X I've been using for push processing Delta 3200 to 3200, 6400, and 12500, but want to try the TFX-2, or PMK. If no one's got PMK or TFX-2 experience with this film, then I'd still appreciate whatever experience they have had, shared. I nmight just end up bracketing 5 frames worth, using a tripod, and using some arbitrary time of 10 or 12 minutes in PMK, which usually does fine by me for making a working EI and development time. Ideally I could use TFX-2 with it; I want SHARP & GRAINY if possible. Maybe I need to get a bottle of R09 with my next order (which will include some FomaPan 200)... frank.schifano
I have no experience with this partiicular film so you should take this only as a suggestion. If you really want sharp and grainy, then why ot try Rodinal 1:50, 13 minutes, at 68 deg. F. with 5 seconds agitation every 30 seconds? Rodinal hs a reputation for sharpness and no grain supression. My experience with Tri-X, HP5+, and TMY have proven that reputation to be well deserved.
bryan_weiss
I use Fomapan 400 frequently. R09 1:40 at 10 minutes works for me with a 30 second prewash in water. j._raabe
Thanks to both of you! I will get my grubby little (actually kind of big) paws on some Rodinal sooner or later. For now I'll just try TFX-2 since I have it already... The times I've found for FOMA 400 for D-76, Rodinal, and XTOL all seem very close to times for HP5+ so I'm going to try a TFX-2 time for HP5+ with an additional minute and see what happens. About 12 or 13 minutes at 68 degrees, I'd say, but it will be more like 70 or 71 degrees (average indoor temperature here)... Thanks again! I'll probably post my findings.
