helohe
Is it possible to remove the Anti-halation layer of a film. To get effects like Kodak HIE? I know that the Anti-halation is "removed" automatically when developing the film. So maybe it is possible to wash the film before using? Are there any colour films that have a strong haliation effect? Thanks
larrydressler
Some films have it built into the base I have washed microfilm dried it on the reel then reloaded it into a cassette but it was a total PITA because I had to dry it in the dark.... It still did not work like I thought. If you can find it Lucky B&W films have no Anti-halation layer. I recently shot some though into the sun and all other ways and it turned out fine. But it may be how I processed it. Larry

david_depin1
A friend and i are experimenting with this actually right now. So far we've run some Agfa isopan (old stuff), through a sink, and it seems to wash the anti-halation filter right off. Now we just need to figure out the process of properly drying and shooting the film. It was also suggested at some previous time that you may try a 10% saline solution.
goodluck, please report back.
