Nikon Wednesday 2022: #16

Note: In the interests of balancing performance and quality, the topic of image file size and dimensions as normally posted to this recurring thread is under discussion elsewhere in the Nikon forum (the topic is obvious when you look) - please check in there and comment if you have thoughts to share! That's the best place to talk about that particular topic. For now, consider keeping uploads no larger than 1600 pixels on the long side when it matters, and sticking with 1000 pixels when the image feels no pain at that resolution. On data size/compression, try to keep things under 1mb, shooting for 600kb when you can stop there. Note that this includes photos hosted off-site (at Flickr, Photobucket, your own site, etc). Are you new to this thread? The general guidelines for these Wednesday threads are right here:
. For now, we're sticking with 1, 2, or 3 images per week as you see fit.

Thanks, Shun, for kicking off Nikon Wednesday last week. Been up to my eyeballs (be self employed, they said! you'll be your own boss, they said! wheee!).

This week, a random grab from a recent product shoot. Put on your clubbing outfit, right? Look at that lighting! I know, it looks like stage design, but that was the director's point: it's an image for a panel in a trade show display, and the tone/color/look has to jive with that larger atmosphere. It actually works well when it you see it all together and this is just one little piece of it sandwiched between Large Blue Things.

How about some images with more natural light, to wash away that intense blue? Go!

Just a quick reminder that each member please post no more than three (3) images per weekly thread. They can be all in one post or spread out in two or three posts. If someone accidentally posts a fourth image, it not a big deal and generally we won't delete your extra images, but we prefer not to have someone dominating the thread.

Thanks in advance.

Nikon z7II, Nikkor Z 100-400mm lens at 130mm, f/32, 1/200 sec, ISO 11400

I've been photographing these huge industrial components of commercial ship fender bumpers for a couple of months at Mare Island shipyard, CA. The diameter of the circles is 5-1/2 ft. The abstract possibilities are endless, shiny black paint a challenge.
