Donald Harpold
Hello Just a question on Wein Cells, do they need to be refrigerated, and do they really last a year as claimed on some sites? Thanks Don
m42dave
Don, I'm not aware that the manufacturer recommends cold storage, and I have never refrigerated any of my batteries. I use zinc-air hearing aid batteries in a few voltage-sensitive cameras and meters, and find that they usually last between 6-9 months in use, sometimes longer if you remove them and replace the foil seal over the holes. The Wein cells as I recall only have one air hole, so that may extend their life a bit versus hearing aid batteries. steve_gallimore1
Like Dave, I just use hearing aid batteries. Cheap, easily available, do the job, last 6 months or more.
