Looking for CLA service for manual Nikon bodies

I haven’t been on Photo.net for years, as life and family and surgeries have occupied my time. I have a family Christmas trip planned (after yet another surgery!) and want to use one or more of my manual focus Nikon bodies because I have missed classic photography. Likely a Nikkormat EL (has sentimental value) and an F. I would probably get a lens serviced at the same time.

If anyone has recommendations I’d appreciate them.

+ what Vincent said. They did outstanding work for me on several occasions, but that was 5-7 yrs ago.

The value of the used EL body is about $40.

On the other hand, a used one might not be better than the one you have,

but pretty often a used one is a better deal than CLA on one you have.

 

The Nikons from that era tended to be built tough, and tend to work

well for a surprisingly long time.

 

That said, with the sentimental value, getting a real CLA is probably

worthwhile in peace of mind, even if not monetarily.

(I don't actually know the going rate.)

I actually have the receipt from the Navy base exchange where my Dad bought it in the 70’s.

I hadn't thought about it for a while, but I might still have the receipt for the FM I

bought in the 1970's, along with the AI 35/2.0 lens.

I called APS and they confirmed that they continue to service Nikon’s classic film bodies. I sent two in for estimates.
