wayne_crider4
Just a quick question to see if anyone has come across a lens with these spec's. I got one with a Minolta XG-M body I picked up 1+ years ago and shoved in a drawer since it's labeled Quantaray. Anyways, I could swear that I've seen it at one time with another name on it. It's tight, heavy, multi-coated and smooth as silk. I'd love to see who actually made it since pic's with an adapter on a mirrorless body showed excellent images without any real testing being done. Just wish it was a little bit lighter but I'll probably still shoot it till I find a lighter carry. It also has a close focus setting btw.

JDMvW
labeled Quantaray. Anyways, I could swear that I've seen it at one time with another name on it. After the heyday of Vivitar and other higher quality third party lens makers, a lot of the old names were bought up purely to confuse the customers. Some of these lenses are "decent," although I think almost none of them are excellent. Actual brand names were made up for particular sellers -- so a large number of brands for the same lens exists... Quantaray was originally a camera store inexpensive lens line. Ritz was it?
