Leslie Reid
You are invited to upload one or more of your landscape photos and, if you’d like, to accompany your image with some commentary: challenges you faced in making the image? your intent for the image? settings? post-processing decisions? why you did what you did? the place and time? or an aspect you’d like feedback on? And please feel free to ask questions of others who have posted images or to join the discussion. If you don’t feel like using words, that’s OK too—unaccompanied images (or unaccompanied words, for that matter) are also very much welcomed. As for the technicalities, the usual forum guidelines apply: files < 1 MB; image size <1000 px maximum dimension. Here’s a more minimalist view of the scene I posted from last week, taken from a slightly different angle. I upgraded my version of Lightroom a few days ago and have been experimenting with the new texture slider—I’m liking it as much as I do the clarity slider. Texture brought out the detail in the sand here with little effect on the wood, while clarity brought out detail in the wood without as much influence on the sand.

Gerald Cafferty
Sorry for straying from the sand theme but this is one of the places I found myself last week. It is taken from Blakey Ridge on the North Yorkshire Moors looking towards Farndale. The uninteresting foreground was cropped and some selective exposure and colour balance in LR. I still have to rely on clarity in LR 5.7.1 because I'm avoiding the software subscription route.

PuntaColorada
The new texture slider is a good addition to LR. These are also not sand. We have enough of it here in Uruguay. They are of Maidens Lake, Lorrain Valley, northeastern Ontario near where we lived in Canada. It was after the ice had cleared, before the leaves came out and before the black flies were too thick.
