simonlafontaine
I'm looking for this lens but it seems unavailable in Europe...
Jochen_S
I did a quick online search "Voigtländer 25/4 Preis" and stumbled across Photo Preim, Aachen, who offer cash & carry only. - To my great dismay I must confess that seemed like a red flag to cheapskate me. If I recall right German Ringfoto supplies chain holds rights on the Voigtländer brand / name here in Germany which results in a hefty markup on the Cosina made stuff, compared to anywhere else in the world. I have no clue what you mean by Europe these days. (<- Brexit! :( ) For me it is too early in the morning, to pretend being polyglot. - Find some helpful folks (or software?) telling you how "price" might be spelled in various European languages. Readjust your search engine to display results in those languages too and you shall find your lens.
simonlafontaine
Thanks Jochen, It seems your right about the relation to Cosina. Here in Belgium, some shops formally have the lens but it is marked “out of stock”...
Dieter Schaefer
It appears the lens has been discontinued - Stephen Gandy from cameraquest.com seems to have stock. Is buying from the US an option? Or ebay?
simonlafontaine
Oh :/ In that case it would be an option but I'm afraid of the border taxation. Last time I ordered a Zeiss Sonnar from Japan I ended up paying 260 euros more...
Richard Williams
Aperture in London has a secondhand 25/4 M in user condition, as well as a 'Mint-' LTM version. This lens was discontinued several years ago, so you are either looking at 'new old' stock, which seems to have sold out at the major UK dealers, or used. Brexit may rear its ugly head on 12 April the way things are going, so probably best to put in any order from (or to) the UK as soon as possible. simonlafontaine
Good news! I’ll have a look at Aperture in London! I also found a dealer in Belgium who sells that lens (new old) for 459 euros. Is it a good price? I’m not sure Cameraquest ships to Europe. It says on their website : only to the US, Mexico, South America...
michael_levy3
I’m not sure Cameraquest ships to Europe. It says on their website : only to the US, Mexico, South America... Cameraquest are restricted by Voigtlander from shipping outside the regions stated.
