charles_birks
I've been trying to delete most of my portfolio in order to replace with smaller formats with complete meta-data. From my portfolio page the site allows me to select permanently delete, and then asks me to confirm, to which I click yes. The site responds that the photo is deleted but in fact it is not. This is just the beginning of my troubles. Gallery creation and filling seems hit or miss at best, and clunky in any case. Error 404 creeps up constantly, and selecting "galleries" often leaves me facing a blank page. The list just keeps growing. As some one who paid for a year of access to what purports to be a professionally administered site I've begun to lose patience. I am using Chrome and have tried logging out and deleting cookies and history to be sure the browser wasn't the culprit. No help there. Any suggestions? charles_birks
by now I have cycled through Chrome, Internet Explorer and Firefox. Firefox seems to work the best, but response is still sluggish and iffy. At least the functionality is mostly there.
gsmart
I have been running into problems trying to delete image files, I delete a file, it disappears for that day, but the next day it is back. I am on day three of repeatedly deleting the same file. Any suggestions?
Not Here
You don't mention your computer platform but I use Win10 and Edge as a browser and was able to delete my entire portfolio with the exception of two images that had won POW. I assume they reside in a data base on the server and continuallly come back when deleted. Anyway, try deleting the selected images from any gallery first and then from photos. That’s what worked for me.
Jack McRitchie
There have been some improvement on the picture side of this site recently but also a whole new thicket of baffling anomalies and decisions that leave me shaking my head. Here are some of the latest head-scratchers that have cropped up.: I just noticed today that though I have been following Michael Linder for years, none of his recent uploads show up in My Favorite Photographer page. I wonder how many other pictures from photographers I follow I'm not seeing. My Favorite Pictures portfolio has been pared to 98. Many of the photos contained within are, for some strange reason, my own pictures. I do not "Favorite" my own pictures. I have no idea when or why this occurred. Even after the changeover, most of the photos in my Favorite Pictures survived without any inclusion of my own work. Favorite Photographers portfolio has been arbitrarily pared to 30, many of whom have not been around PN for years. It is still in no comprehensible order. I have no idea what the recent addition of the activity report graph on my Recent Activity Timeline is supposed to do except look like we're conducting some sort of scientific study. As for the page itself, You can choose a default setting and that works ok if you just want to view the pictures. However, if you want to view work activity from the people you follow, you have to turn the switch to off. Again if you just want to view the pictures and comments, no problem. However if you want to add a comment to one of the pictures (as I often do). the back arrow - there's no other choice - switches you back to the default view, the one that shows comments on just your own work. Now you have to scroll back to the top and switch it back to the off position then scroll back down to where you left off. This can be a considerable journey due to the way this portfolio is configured with the repetition of pictures for each comment, favorite and like. If you're being paid for number of clicks and miles or scrolling, you'd be a millionaire by now., Enough for now. Jack, there is a random number generator that scrambles code when it darn well pleases. There is no other possible explanation. Lannie
GerrySiegel
A casual comment in category of ease of use. Seems the No Words forum has gained popularity. I still get into some rabbit holes with the menus for uploading an image. 1) server errors that are a pain in the buttsky 2) if the posting winds up with two images, it is creepy hard to delete or modify and get rid of one. One winds up going back and starting again, and 2) seems the menu choices for edit and delete and add a small caption should be shall we say user friendly. When you get time, Glen, have a shot at these items. 3) the sizes come out at seemingly random ways, or else I ken not the pixel input and pixel output. Anyway, have a nice day. HermanRoes
Still another simple feature I am missing. Sometimes one wants to reply to a comment. Can't find a simple and effective way. So I comment my own images. But this is not effective and how knows my commentator that I have answered him (or her)??????
HermanRoes
Long long time ago in a galaxy far far away. There was a Photo web site that was reasonable manageable . If someone commented my image there was a decent way to say thank you. Today I have to comment my own image to say something and hoping that the commenting person reads it or at least knows I have written something. Anybody out there knows the solution I do not see?I do not mind being stupid! But I am afraid photo.net became a game that nobody can finish.
