Hasselblad 500C/M, A12 Back, Chrome 80mm Planar T* Lens

Recommended Posts

500 C/M in chrome with "standard" wind knob and WLF. No dents or dings in body. As you can see it is in user condition but everything runs smoothly. I've had it looked at by David Odess who is one of the best repairman on hasselblads . He told me nothing was wrong with the camera and I asked if it needed a CLA in which he replied, "no, NOTHING IS WRONG WITH THE CAMERA, doesn't need a CLA". So he kindly sent it back to me. Now onto the cosmetics, obviously its age is showing through. The leather is mainly intact and starting to peel at the edge on the knob advance side towards the bottom, nothing that alittle glue cant fix, but it's so minor that I just left it and it's fine. There is paint loss on the tripod plate which the camera has mainly been used on, (i was contemplating replacing it to increase the value If I resell, but why spend more $??) The viewing screen i'm pretty sure is not the acute matte screen but it is definitely brighter and easier to focus than my friend's hasselblad 500C so I think it's one of the "later" standard versions, i'm sure someone can chime in and identify it. Rear shutter curtains are intact as you can see in pics and working as should. Smooth and snappy. A12 back has some minor wear on the wind lever but MOST IMPORTANTLY it comes with the matching insert which are hand calibrated at the factory, this is to ensure you get proper focus at large apertures. So for those looking to get an A12 back in the future make sure you have the matching insert which you can tell by seeing if the last 3 digits on the body and insert match as you can see in my pics. If not, you can run into focusing problems. Now... Onto the lens, this is the 80mm Planar-C 2.8 in chrome with later serial number and T* coating (earlier versions had a black filter/hood mount) later chrome versions have a silver one. Not to be confused with the older single coated non T* version. No scratches, cleaning marks, haze, fungus/mold. Coating is intact and no balsam separation anywhere. Shutter speeds are spot on. Aperture blades clean and snappy. The only wear is on the barrel where there is some paint loss. Again see pics. I've ran about 12 rolls through the camera since I purchased last year all used in a studio indoors and every frame came out technically perfect and evenly spaced. Selling because I don't shoot medium format enough to keep it. Please someone take this off my hands it's a BEAUTIFUL camera that deserves to be used! That's about it. I think i've covered everything. I'd prefer to sell as a set, Asking $875 shipped within US, net to me. Gifted or buyer picks up paypal fees. No returns, as camera is 100% fully functioning. If interested in separating, price will be more for each piece thank for looking. I've sold traded and bought here many times with no problems. Check my feedback on the bay. rangefinder78.
