Hello everyone. I am going to rave about the UFX400 material before Don ! Now with close to two years using it (Ultrafine Xtreme 400 - UFX400) I am totally impressed by it. Rumored to be the Kentmere emulsion, the film behaves exactly like the Kentmere 400, and the 100 material. One big advantage of the UFX material, is that 120 format is available.
I only use pyro staining developers and the produced stain "seems" to reduce the grain of the 35mm, 400 material so that 11x14's can be printed for "normal" viewing distance. 120 negs are 20x20 prints before grain is noticeable. As to exposure, both UFX materials respond well to Zone System manipulation, both in the camera and +/- developing. During the two years with these emulsions, 510-Pyro, Obsidian Aqua, Pyrocat HD & now the Pyrocat MC chemicals have been used. I have standardized asa / developing times, so bouncing back n forth between formats is a breeze.
If you are interested Emir, a sample pack of 100, 400, and what UFX calls a "T grain type" 400 emulsion is available thru their Ebay sales. Three 135-36 rolls of each for $30 delivered. I consider the "T grain" film as "junk" currently, since it has so many emulsion "defects" (similar to the old Lucky and GP films of Chinese origin). Those films are used for chasing assorted problems that crop up with my collection of CMC folders.

Hello Emir
I have had some good results with the 400 and some not so good
I took some shots that had the sky come out grainy but some on the same roll came out good, these were lab processed so I am not sure if it was just that developing or ??

I just got back into developing and the roll I just took with the new Minolta 7S I developed in Rodinal 1-25 7.5 minutes and fixed in TF-4 for 6 minutes and they seem to have come out much better
Here is one that kind of shows the graininess in the sky but the fence and shrub are better
I will keep trying it, Bill is having good luck with the staining developer so that might be the way to go. I have another roll that I will give a go and try again
