Hello. I have a problem with masking a green screen in Affinity (to cut a long story short, the preview looks great but when I apply the mask I get a lot of green bleed through). Willing to pay for help, so if you're an Affinity expert and can help, please let me know :)

I've noticed that a Chroma Key background tends to reflect from the sides of a persons face, which is relatively shiny from an acute angle. It also affects other objects as well. It works well enough for television, but not for precision masking.

The problem you are running into is that when you use non-Adobe software for image processing, the knowledge base is tiny. Whether or not green screen reflects is irrelevant to solving your problem as well.

Unless you can find an Affinity expert, your best bet is to study the methods for doing green screen cleanup in Photoshop and seeing if there are analogous processes. Without knowing exactly what types of tools are available in Affinity, it doesn't make sense to run through a technique, so checking PS tutorials and looking for one that may work with the Affinity tools will hopefully solve your problem.

Alternatively, you could send the image to someone who does retouching in Photoshop and can fix it.

We don't know whether reflections are part of the OP's problem without seeing examples. Suffice to say it is often a problem, as well as portions of the colored background showing through enclosed areas (e.g., loops of hair) in the image. Not all masking programs have the same capability, and sometimes it falls on good, old-fashioned technique and detail work to save the day.
