Hey Experts

During upside down mode in the Windscreen mounted 700d I am having two major little issues.

1. The menus on the flip out stay upside down, the picture is the right way up, the finished file is upside down.

( settings checked to auto rotate - yes )

2. When shooting in the car, ( on a sunny day ) ( yes I know don't do that ) one minute the picture on me is too bright - the next its gone because I have driven into the shade.

I have tried Auto Mode on the camera - which is worse than manually setting the ISO.

But it still seems less ( stable ) ( consistant ) than what I am used to with Filmic Pro with Iphone.

With the Iphone - If I see a bad light shot. I wait and move to a differnt place...or... I can move my finger around on the phone screen to adjust the light ( exposure?) and then record from there.
Can you think of a setting idea? Both in Mode i.e. P. AV. TV etc or M and x y z settings as a work round?

Love your help

First, once you set everything, you really don't need to use the flip out. Second, you may have to go to "Creative Zone" in order to limit ISO's range....lets just say 100 to 3200. The most precise way is to have everything in manual. Sooo you can preset the camera lens to F3.5 or so and then set your shutter to 1/400-500sec (preventing a blur)....higher or lower depending on light. Anyway, set the auto-ISO in conjunction with "M" should give you the results you're after. When the light drops in the shadows (from trees, tall buildings or overpasses, etc)....it's the auto ISO's that will compensate the exposure (that should happen instantly). Having said that, I'd also preset WB for the type of lighting you are getting....tho this is fairly minor and it can be tweaked in pp.

Anyway, take the set up for a spin and tweak it if necessary.....test it. It would be helpful, except for the on/off function, and less distracting to your driving, if you trigger the camera via cable....or you can get fancy and use a wifi trigger.

Sorry if I wasn't v. clear how to set up your camera exactly.....I happen to use Nikon rigs.
