bnyc
It looks like this forum hasn't been active for a while... Every other equipment group seems to have a weekly photo thread, so what the heck, I'm officially kicking of "Phone Phriday."

Taken today while getting lunch.

bnyc
Matt - I know my iPhone 5 has plenty of life left in it, but hot damn the 6+ can do some incredible things. Must... resist.... Too many... gadgets....

(Beautiful shot, btw.)
Andy Murphy
Hi Eric Have not tried Raw on the Nexus. I have applied for Fi.Google as it is a better deal than going with one of the vendors.
CoryAmmerman
I agree that the iPhone 6 is pretty impressive. My wife has one and I am continually impressed with the quality of the pictures from it.

I don't use my phone camera very often, other than casual snaps, but this is one of my favorite shots of all time. It was taken a few years ago with my old 4s.

Matt Laur
Thanks, Peter. Yeah, I've been iPhone-ing along for versions 3, 4, 5 and 6+ ... and I've always found all of the cameras to be incredibly useful (mostly playing with composition, visual note-taking, that sort of thing). But the 6+ has started to creep into my photography for its own sake. Not only that, I've started to use it as yet another video camera in a mix of several on some shoots. Was working with some friends/clients doing a day-in-the-life run and gun docu sort of thing a few weeks back, and had along some Serious Video Equipment ... but here and there, as other gear was being rearranged, the 6+ comes out of my pocket to grab a moment or two that I'd have otherwise missed. And in crappy light, too! Have to admit, I'd feel naked without it, and not just for the connectivity now.

Probably 15-20% of this quick 7-minute piece was shot on that 6+, in between clips from a couple of different Nikon DSLRs, a DJI camera drone, and a Sony FS700. Sure, there's some grading differences, but this one is just about what was happeneing. The iPhone's stuff just slides right in with the rest of it, at least for web viewing.

https://vimeo.com/user27040244/review/141629765/85bebfeb39

randy_cooprider1
I have a Galaxy S5 and it is usually with me. Comes in handy for grandkids pumpkins. Also I get lots of fun candids & scenics. Do we do 3 shots in this forum?

EricM
Andy, I'm envious and hope that Canada opens up to Google Fi as well.

I'm looking forward to shooting in dng on my phone one day. So many shots are keepers and wish to have raw on my phone for the same reason I would on any other camera. Check out 'Camera FV-5' for editing raw on your phone :)
