sais_tv
Are there polaroid holders for this scanner? I have been using mine to scan 35mm and 120/220 film , but never seen anything on the net where it was used to scan polaroids. I can probably put instax laid on to the 120/220 film holder, but am looking for a viable scanner to do full polaroids.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
cabbiinc
I think you'll want a flatbed for that. Correct me if I'm wrong but the 8000 doesn't do a reflective scan. Only transparent media.
borrel1
On an Epson 4990 (now V70?): http://abdallah.hiof.no/mamiya-665/index.html -Børre
chrisnielsen
I bought a Doxie One for scanning my documents and found to my delight that it also does a very decent job of scanning Instax. I always hated scanning them on my flatbed, when you line them up and close the lid they always seem to end up crooked. Doxie just grabs them, they zoom through in about 3 seconds and you get a nice looking JPG. I use it with an Eye-Fi card and the scans magically appear on my computer.
cabbiinc
Wow, I think both a V700 and a Doxie One would be overkill for Polaroid prints. Just about any decent flatbed scanner would do, no need to spend more than $100. Just about anything from Epson, Canon, HP, etc... would do.
borrel1
I think Sais needs to tell us what form of Polaroids (s)he wants to scan - positive print or 665/55 negatives.
cabbiinc
I did think about the negatives that you can get from 665/55 or Fuji pull apart film, but the Instax reference made me think prints as there's no negative with that.
carbon_dragon
I have the Epson Perfection v500 and it scans to a fairly good resolution and the polaroids I scanned over the weekend seemed to come out pretty well. The v500 will do transparent media too, but for small negatives you're better off with a negative scanner. I don't think you need the full up v700. If you work at an office, they might have a flatbed of some kind as well. Mine does. They might not mind you doing a few scans. Not as good but it might be free if you only need to do a couple. glen_h
There was also a polaroid instant slide film using an additive color system. Tiny red, green, and blue dots on the film that work both at exposure and viewing. Good scanners can probably see the little dots, which would complicate the scans.
-- glen
john_mcferren
For scanning simply treat a Polaroid like a print (except Polapan and Polachrome obviously). For Instax 600 dpi is about the highest resolution you need to scan.
