Yashica YF

I read on the 'net some time ago that older independent repair technicians have opined that the build quality of this camera is on par with Leica. The lens is probably a Nikkor and can be overhauled by a reputable tech. in your geographic area. I would not consider this a DIY project having worked on lenses in the past, some with success and others without.

The Yashica YF was "created: when the company bought up/out a camera company called Nicca. The cameras were fantastic. I used one as a measuring device on a photo shoot of a model! I cannot focus(well maybe now..my eyes have changed) Hasselblads. Not accurately. The pro who saw me doing that with his cheapo (compared) swung a light stand at my head! He missed. It's very much like a M3 but screw mount if i'm not mistaken. This was in the early 60's!
Any technician should easily unjam it. It may be jammed on the cam. Do not use force.

I know I am late to this discussion, but thought I should add some pertinent info.
Mark Hama is THE Yashica RF Repair guy. Russell Sisco is also good and recommended, especially for Yashica Electro, but pre-Electro you should contact Mark.

I recently bought a 1958 Yashica 35 (pre-Electro fixed lens RF) and have cleaned it up enough to test it out, but sending it down to Mark will allow me to have a like new camera to use.
