Nikon Wednesday 2011: #43

<p>Very good images today as always.<br>

Today I have a heavily PS'ed image. So I hope that it doesn't break any of the rules. I just wanted to learn some new things and I liked this to start off with. It started off being an afternoon color image of a winding road in the mountains of Pennsylvania. <br>

<p>This weekend saw my first NYC visit - lots of pics to process. Very possibly not a typical shot of the city, but a very typical New Yorker ;-) (D200, Tamron 17-50 2.8 - 50 mm 1/40 s @ f 5.6)</p><div></div>

<p>They held the event at Union Square in San Francisco last Saturday. Here is an image I captured also with the J1 @ ISO 100 with the 10-30mm/f3.5-5.6 zoom at 13.1mm, f5.6, 1/500 sec. I printed this to an 8.5x11 and it looks quite good. 13mm gives me a lot of depth of field.</p><div></div>

<p>This is a from a wedding earlier this season. Bird's Nest headpieces are so cool to play with.<br>

In contrast I photographed a soldier's viewing at a funeral home prior to burial at Arlington National Cemetery on Friday and than an intimate maternity session on Sunday.<br>

One thing about my job is I never know what's going to be in front of my lens and what kind of emotions I will need to portray.</p>

<p>Good morning everyone, This is a picture I took of Ghost, he is a homeless man that lives in our local park.</p>

<p>Taken October 8, near Christmas, MI. Nikon F100, Fuji Superia 200 pp'd to b&w. I forget what lens I was using, but I was shooting wide-open.</p>

<p>I was on a vacation in my home country, Belgium, this week and visited Brugge, which was beautiful this time of year. I snapped a few hundred pics of the fall colours there, but this one is the sun shining through the painted glass in the Basilica of the Holy Blood.</p>

<p>My parents' church (and the church where I grew up) will be celebrating its centennial in a couple of years. I recently took some photos for their website. After posting some of the pictures on facebook and reminiscing with my friends, I met a couple of them at the church for a "tour" last week. We had a great time roaming this huge building, and I took a few pictures along the way.</p>

<p>Hi everyone! I built a DIY beauty dish last week, this one is a test shot from last weekend.</p>

After staring at the mask and bottle of bubbly for some time, I decided to use them in a still life.<br>

Trying to find a good composition with just a few elements was challenging, but think I got it.</p><div></div>

<p>Walking the neighborhood on Sunday I remarked that the puppy was cute and asked the man if I could take their picture. He said they are hometown Baltimore Ravens fans, and happily agreed to be photographed. He asked for a copy when I could get around to it. Seeing the good shots on my D7000 I hurried home only a block away, then quickly downloaded and made an 8.5x11 print. I walked back up the street and the man was very gracious and overjoyed to receive a print of himself and his puppy. We became friends and it was nice to have a positive experience with my camera. </p><div></div>

<p>On Saturday I took the camera down to Brighton to photograph the annual zombie parade. About 4,000 turned out, and this young lady was one of my favorites. She had a perfect vacant stare and shuffling walk! </p>
