More of the Savoy and Kodacolor X

You might just be right Gene. I remember being there some years back with my parents. My father drove a red '66 VW van. I remember the windshield had separate panes. The motor was a 1600 cc, and every time we drove into a headwind, the van would lose 5 mph or more (even more when the monkeys shagged a ride on the bumper).

From the treeline and the large 'Safari' sign, I'm thinking it might be the African Safari Park in Hemingford, Quebec (right on the border with upstate NY). I probably visited as a child the year those photos were taken. I could be wrong of course, it's not much to go on, but I remember a long sign mounted on a fence on the property line, on the NW corner of the park where you could see it driving up. Of course the park has been modernized a few times since then, and they mostly have (or had) the same animals at the various parks.

My best "Savoy" experience was Easter Dinner at the very posh Savoy Restaurant in London in 1985.

Earlier that morning I had an egg mcmuffin at a McDonalds in Soho Square. You had to be careful where you walked because they were dropping "aitches" everywhere.

Rob, you have a very nice shot of my birthplace, Niagara Falls, at the bottom of the page.

The most interesting and largely unknown about Kodacolor X was that it was a TypeF film (clear flashbulbs) but it was icredibly sharp, fine grained and Kodak didn't really tell you that it should have been shot with an 85C filter. It was the favorite of many professional portraitists.
